(Paul Klee; 1879 - 1940), hoạ sĩ Đức, gốc Thuỵ Sĩ. Thoạt đầu theo học âm nhạc, sau chuyển sang hội hoạ. Học tại Acađêmi Muynkhen (München) (1898 - 1901). Ông sang Italia (1901 - 02) rồi trở về Becnơ (Berne) cho đến 1905. Thời kì này Klê làm tranh khắc. Năm 1911, gặp Kanđinxki (V. V. Kandinskij) cùng tham gia các triển lãm của nhóm Kị sĩ xanh (Der Blaue Reiter). Năm 1912, chuyển sang vẽ lập thể. Năm 1914, tìm được phong cách riêng. Những tranh chữ tượng hình của K vẽ vào những năm 1916 - 18 khẳng định cá tính hội hoạ, vừa hữu hình vừa trừu tượng của ông. Năm 1921, làm giáo sư tại Baohao (Bauhaus). Năm 1925, tham gia triển lãm lần thứ nhất theo xu hướng siêu thực ở Pháp và Đức. Năm 1930, Bảo tàng Niu Yooc (New York) tổ chức triển lãm tác phẩm của riêng ông. Năm 1937, bị Đức Quốc xã tịch thu 102 tranh tại triển lãm. Klê để lại nhiều tranh và những suy nghĩ của ông về nghệ thuật được tập hợp trong cuốn "Sổ tay phác thảo sư phạm" xuất bản ở Bauhao (1925).
